Last updated September 4, 2026. This page describes the data used by this site as it exists now. The site does not use advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or session replay.

Anonymous discussion

Comments and one-level replies are public. They are displayed as “Anonymous,” stored as plain text, and remain until Armin deletes the top-level comment or its related idea. Public upvote and downvote totals are stored with comments. If you add an email, it is stored separately and privately with that comment and is visible only to Armin’s two authorized administrator accounts.

After you try to comment, reply, or vote, the browser may receive a random, first-party, HTTP-only visitor cookie for up to one year. The raw value stays in the cookie. The database stores only a keyed one-way hash so the site can enforce posting limits, remember one vote per browser, and prevent voting on a comment from the same browser. Clearing the cookie resets that local identity. The application does not add IP addresses, user-agent strings, or device fingerprints to its discussion database.

Verification and hosting

Cloudflare Turnstile checks administrator sign-in and every public comment, reply, and vote for automated abuse. It processes browser and network signals for that purpose. Supabase provides authentication, database, and media storage; Vercel serves the website. These services may process request information such as IP address, browser headers, timestamps, and service logs as needed to provide and secure their services. Photographs

Published photographs use sanitized display and download copies with EXIF and GPS metadata removed. The uploaded original remains private in Supabase Storage and is available only to Armin’s authorized administrators. Unpublishing a photo hides it from the site while retaining its private original; permanent deletion removes the record and its managed files.

Media players

Official Spotify and SoundCloud players load immediately on Seeing / Listening pages. Loading or using them sends technical request and device data to the selected provider and may let that provider use cookies or browser storage under its own privacy terms. The site stores only the provider URL and stable embed identifier; it does not copy provider audio or artwork. See the Spotify privacy policy and SoundCloud privacy policy.
